I just literally came out of the cinema twenty minutes ago, returned home and while on my way, I pondered what I have just seen. It’s late here. Ridley Scott’s 2023 film Napoleon is… something. As a film, it’s honestly rather enjoyable. Strictly as a film, a creative work of fiction. From a historical perspective, it’s an absolute travesty.
The biggest feeling I have after watching the film is one of disappointment. I want to shout into the skies: “Why must movies ALWAYS belittle great men?” Why must they, almost compulsively, diminish a man’s greatness? They can’t just let Napoleon Bonaparte, the Emperor, the Conqueror, the Reformer, be great. Oh no. He has to be made into a simp, a loser, a pathetic, pitiful creature constantly cuckolded by his wife and remaining slavishly devoted to her. Childish, throwing tantrums, utterly lacking in social graces to the point where he’d make a baboon blush.
His bedroom prowess is made fun of. Constantly. Hell, it’s even implied that Napoleon, who famously fathered several bastard children, was unsure of his ability to even father a child until his MOTHER(!) placed a young virgin in his bed chambers and made him drink himself into the courage to produce his first bastard son… by the end of the movie, even the Tsar of Russia visits his ex-wife and is heavily insinuated to have an affair with her.
I wanted goosebump moments. Grand speeches. Intrigue. I wanted to feel the power of a man who bent the world to his will, a man who reshaped Europe forever through his power of imagination. I wanted to see the glory. Light-hearted moments would have been fine… but why make a great man into a pitiful one? Why diminish his masculinity just for cheap laughs? I came out this film feeling dirty. Like I just saw greatness besmirched for no other reason than because Ridley Scott could.

This movie isn’t just about some dude going nuts with an axe. It’s a full-on roast of the 1980s yuppie culture. You’ve got Patrick Bateman, played by Christian Bale, living this double life as a slick Wall Street guy by day and a total psycho killer by night. It’s like the movie is saying, “Hey, you know that ultra-materialistic, superficial lifestyle? It’s kinda messed up.” It’s not just horror; it’s a dark, twisted comedy poking fun at how absurd that whole scene was.
What makes “American Psycho” a brain-tickler is how it gets you into the head of Bateman. This guy is all about appearances, right? Fancy suits, fancy dinners, but underneath, he’s completely unhinged. The film plays this game of “is he really doing all these crazy things or is it all in his head?” It messes with you because you start questioning what’s real and what’s not, which is pretty deep for a movie that also has a scene with a dude running around with a chainsaw.
The end of this flick is a real mind-bender. You’re left not knowing if Bateman actually did all those gruesome things or if he’s just lost it. It’s like the movie’s saying, “Does it even matter?” The whole thing could be a metaphor for how people can hide their true selves behind a mask of normalcy. Or maybe it’s about how society ignores the crazy stuff happening right under its nose. Either way, it’s deep because it doesn’t just hand you the answers on a silver platter.
So, “American Psycho” isn’t just about the blood and gore. It’s a deep dive into 80s excess, the human psyche, and the blurred lines between reality and fantasy. It’s like a horror movie with a philosophy degree.

It’s kind of like with the character Lisa Simpson, from the show The Simpsons. I’ve often seen Thunberg compared to this cartoon lady — a small child who has a lot of big opinions that somehow rub the grownups the wrong way.
It’s kind of jarring from a mental and physical point of view to be “schooled” and told what to do by someone very young. To be told what you do wrong, what you need to do instead, and informed of the fact that you ruined someone’s future with your lifestyle choices. Nobody likes to hear that. So we shoot the proverbial messenger. And when that messenger is someone quite easy to “shoot” because she isn’t likable… well, that’s kind of neat for whoever finds her message hard to stomach. And even with those who may be sympathetic, it’s not just that we don’t want to hear it — we don’t want to her it from her.
There’s also this general sense of “this is a narrative the media is pushing”. Nothing about Thunberg feels organic. Her rise to fame seems pre-planned, carefully orchestrated. That is not to say I disagree with her — climate change and pollution scare me, too —- it’s just to say that her being as famous as she is sometimes seems… odd. And while generating attention to her cause is great, having it spearheaded by someone less off-putting may be more productive.

After nearly six years of marriage, Katie Holmes decided to file for divorce from Tom Cruise in 2012. To keep her plans a secret from Cruise and his team, she used a disposable cellphone to make calls about the divorce and hired three different law firms in different states.
This move surprised the Church of Scientology, as they prefer divorces to be handled internally. Holmes, however, took matters into her own hands and kept everything outside of their jurisdiction.
There were rumors that Holmes had concerns about Cruise potentially abducting their daughter, Suri, and also feared intimidation from the Church of Scientology. While these rumors were never confirmed, they suggested that Cruise might have planned to send Suri off to Sea Org.
In the end, Holmes was granted primary custody of Suri, who was then six years old, while Cruise received visitation rights. Interestingly, their divorce agreement included a clause stating that Holmes would not publicly date anyone else for five years. This may explain why her relationship with actor Jamie Foxx remained hidden for so long.
Following the divorce, Holmes decided to start fresh in New York, making her daughter her top priority. She embarked on a journey of self-reinvention, as her previous life had revolved almost entirely around being married to Tom Cruise. Moving forward, she was determined not to recreate that reality again.

The craziest Freddie story I ever heard came from Gary Numan.
Numan was on his first international tour in Japan, and was having a fairly miserable time dealing with the boredom and monotony of life on the road. On a night off, he discovered that Queen were playing at a larger venue in the same city as him so, being a big Queen fan, he set off alone to go to the gig. As he was only just starting to experience any significant success, Numan assumed he’d be able to watch Queen without being recognised, but there was apparently a significant overlap between Numan’s Japanese audience and Queen’s, and shortly after arriving at the concert venue he was recognised and mobbed in the crowd.
Gary Numan with Freddie
Queen’s security team spotted what was happening and escorted Numan backstage, where the band let him stay and watch the concert from the side of the stage. After the show, Freddie invited Numan to come with the band and their entourage for dinner at a Japanese restaurant.
Numan is autistic (although he has given conflicting information in interviews about when he was diagnosed), and one of the ways this manifests itself is in very limited food preferences, so he wasn’t coping well with the unfamiliar Japanese food. Freddie, being an attentive host, noticed that Numan wasn’t eating and went to check on him. He explained that he couldn’t eat the food, so Freddie asked what he’d prefer. Numan asks for McDonald’s. Freddie goes away to speak to the waiters, then a little while later a car pulls up outside with a takeaway McDonald’s meal in it.
What a class act.

The biography “Jackie: Public, Private, Secret” by J. Randy Taraborrelli reveals an alleged affair between Jackie Kennedy and architect Jack Warnecke, which started months after JFK’s assassination in 1963. Warnecke, interestingly, was the man Kennedy hired to design JFK’s gravesite at Arlington National Cemetery.
This relationship began when Warnecke asked Jackie out to dinner in May 1964. Despite a lack of clear affirmation from her, their relationship developed and lasted for about three years. They spent time together at the Kennedy family compound in Hyannis Port on Cape Cod and had significant emotional ties to each other.
Warnecke even considered proposing to Jackie during a trip to Hawaii in 1966, but financial strains related to his firm and their lifestyle led to the end of their relationship. Jackie later stopped taking his calls and moved on with her life.
Jackie Kennedy’s life after Warnecke involved marriage to Greek shipping tycoon Aristotle Onassis in 1968 and a later relationship with diamond merchant Maurice Tempelsman. However, in a poignant turn of events, when Jackie was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma in 1994, she reconnected with Warnecke to reminisce over letters from her past, indicating the lasting impact of their relationship.

Amber Heard is worth about $500,000, from recent reports.
She paid Johnny just $1 million, which he promptly donated to charity.
Currently she is living in Mallorca and raising her child.
“Filmng wrapped up for “Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom” in January of 2022, three months BEFORE the start of the Depp-Heard trial. Heard’s role has been pared down considerably. This is greatly due to her lack of “chemistry” with Jason Momoa. Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom’s director James Wan recently spoke about Amber Heard and her reduced role in the new movie. According to Wan himself, the DC sequel was always going to have a stronger focus on Aquaman and Orm joining forces as estranged brothers and former rivals rather than Aquaman and Mera teaming as they did in the first movie.”
Amber recently attempted to star in and produce a movie, “Into the Fire”, which received very poor reception and very little press.
It received only 15% positive reviews on Rotten Tomatoes, which is about as low as a movie can score and it earned only $22,000. Since she produced it, suffice it to say she lost even more of her dwindling bank account.
Heard is forever entombed on Youtube as the “worst performance by an actress” in a civil court case. It is highly unlikely she will ever REALLY work in the industry again. Hollywood CANCELS abusers.
Johnny is now worth $210 million, finished a period piece set in Versailles, has another movie in post production, and several projects in the works. He came out of this battle renewed and smelling like a rose.
Here he is at Cannes for a recent film.

The scariest by far? The Samson Option. In the Bible, when Samson had his hair and beard cut off, he lost his strength… God returned to him one final burst of power, allowing the Israelite strongman to break the pillars of the temple the Philistines had him chained up in. The temple collapsed, and the Philistines died along with Samson.
Likewise, the Samson Option means for Israel to launch nukes when it badly loses a war to the point it stands to lose all territory. Like Samson and the Philistines, Israel would go down, but take down its enemies with it. It’s all, or nothing. Things would have to get pretty dire for Israel to consider the option, but still, the fact that it’s even on the table in the first place is… worth pondering.
Can’t really think of a more controversial doctrine than the Samson Option. It’s really something else entirely. Nuclear weapons truly are the world’s most terrifying thing and I dread the fact they even exist, as should any other sane person.
